Unprepped botanicals store well at room temperature in a paper bag or cardboard box with airflow. Avoid sealed plastic bags, which trap moisture and can cause mold in as little as two weeks. A cool, dry shelf in a low-humidity room is ideal.

Prepped botanicals, meaning boiled and fully waterlogged, should either go into the tank within 24 hours or be stored submerged in clean water in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
